Wonder Women Wednesday: HAIM

If you haven't heard of the band Haim, you're missing out for multiple reasons. First off, the girls are incredibly talented. They're three sisters that grew up playing music with their family, and have turned into a world-touring, Grammy nominated band. Their first album Days Are Gone, released in 2013, is a really strong pop album. It produced hits "Forever" & "The Wire" and received critical acclaim. They don't shy away from rocking out at their live shows - giving energetic performances of songs from their album, which you can listen to here:

Secondly, the sisters are hilarious. So hilarious that they've got their own show on Beats 1. I dare you to find one interview that doesn't include Alana acting ridiculous or at least one funny anecdote told. They're highly entertaining, and you can tell that they just love hanging out with each other. Here's one example from a Ryan Seacrest show earlier this year:

Thirdly, they have incredible fashion sense. As we talked about in the last issue, each of them has an obsession with leather jackets and any other sophisticated but edgy fashion you'd find at Topshop. There's not a candid or Instagram photo out there where I'm not jealous of their effortless style.

Lastly, they're inspirational for all female artists out there. When I saw Haim open for Taylor Swift (who they've formed a #squad with) at the 1989 World Tour, my first thought was "you never see girls on stage performing every instrument and rocking out this much." It's a sad thought that it's not a more regular occurrence, but we're lucky to have Haim out there writing songs and performing as a strong group of women.
