Wonder Women Wednesday: Playlist

This week we're looking at some of our favorite recent songs! Here's a run down:

  • Chvrches: the most recent singles from their new album. The female fronted group has great indie-pop songs, and I'm also a huge fan of their album cover.
  • Halsey: this Brooklyn singer-songwriter can be a bit controversial, but she's certainly unique and has a great sound.
  • Hailee Steinfeld: the Oscar nominated eighteen year old seriously knows how to sing. This pop song instantly went to the top of the Spotify global chart, and has an empowering message.
  • Alessia Cara: her EP on DefJam was just released in late August, and at nineteen she has already found her style. "Here" is a favorite - as it talks about being uncomfortable at a party.
  • Gabrielle Aplin: it's no secret I'm a fan of this British singer-songwriter. Her second album comes out very soon - so these are a couple of her newest tracks.
  • Lucie Silvas: this wouldn't be a Songbird playlist without at least one Nashville based songwriter on the list. Lucie has traveled all over, but found her community in TN.
  • Birdy: this is a collaboration with Rhodes, and it shows off Birdy's incredible voice - something that is pretty easy to do given how talented she is.
